Last time we checked in with our amazing friend Timi Temple, the Sydney singer-songwriter was celebrating his first birthday with a trippy two-side that embodied everything we love about him: epic melodies, interesting off-kilter production choices and heartfelt lyrics that often dig deep into the unfiltered realities of being a creative.
That was back in April, but our boy Timi is back this week to continue his introspective streak with a gritty new single “2pm For Breakfast”. Living up to his reputation as the penultimate local DIY guy, the punchy indie rock anthem was completely written, recorded, produced, mixed and mastered by the versatile-as-hell man himself.
Over chugging guitar lines, crunched-up swirls and razor-sharp vocal touches, Timi unpacks the lack of structure in a musician’s life and how a regular schedule, healthy routines and letting off steam can be either really bloody hard or downright impossible. He’s done it again: another straight-up hit with a rock solid message. ✓
