Midway through last month, Adelaide-via-Baghdad beat wizard Motez caused quite the stir across the EDM world with full details of his forthcoming EP ‘The Vibe’ (out April 22nd) and a supporting national tour to boot. We’ve already had some time to process and embrace “Down Like This” (featuring local emcee/queen Tkay Maidza), but today marks our second taste of exactly what we can expect to hear on ‘The Vibe’ in just a few short weeks.
Centred around a simple rolling deep house beat and a playful sci-fi synth hook, title track “The Vibe” summons West London rapper Scrufizzer (who has previously traded bars with Dizzee Rascal, Danny Brown and Skream) to provide jubilant, energetic bars and an ecstatic, flawless build into a smooth-as-hell drop. It seems like Motez is keeping it light, fun and uncomplicated, and we’re definitely not complaining…
