Brisbane beat-master Charles Murdoch is well and truly on a roll. Back in June, the young producer shared the shadowy, atmospheric single “Straws” (covered right here), pairing the track with a poignant film clip directed by consummate German creative collective Jünglinge. Murdoch’s follow-up “Frogs” is a collaboration of epic proportions, bringing in fellow Future Classic heavyweight Ta-ku in (on his first feature vocal ever), enigmatic songstress Wafia and rising emcee Hak for a warping, synth-laced mesh of each individual’s groundbreaking talent.
Today, we’ve been treated to a powerful video accompaniment for the single. The “Frogs” clip acts as the second instalment in a trilogy of short films centred around Pete, a skinhead who struggles with suppressing his sexuality and switching between projected identities. “[It’s been] amazing to have such talented people involved with my track and for them to have put so much heart into their takes,” Murdoch explains.
